What can TransSearch do for you?

If a particular translation problem is causing you difficulty, it's more than likely that other translators have struggled with the same problem in the past. TransSearch can help by providing access to the prior solutions that others have come up with to that problem, on the condition, of course, that these are present in the system's translation database. What enables TransSearch to do this is that source language segments and their corresponding target language segments have been linked in the database. Thus, when TransSearch locates all the occurrences of a particular problem in one language, it can also display the solutions that have previously been proposed in the other language. Needless to say, you still have to evaluate these solutions. As Pierre Isabelle pointed out:

“Existing translations contain more solutions to more translation problems than any other available resource.”
